The book includes a number of very useful solutions for these small machines.
I did some small modifications to some of the sketches in the book. In this case the housing for the tips that I made to be threaded onto the tailstock istead of being inserted into it. See below.
The end result will be much the same, but for it feels a bit more safe when the housing is screwed on. I copied the inside from the book and made my own outside, see drawing below.
In all other parts I followed the sketches in the book even though my measures not always follow the ones in the book. This depending on material available and using metric measures instead of imperial.
In the upper row we see my version of the housing, Inside there are three bearing balls acting as bearing. Next are the pipe cenmter and the pushplate. The lower row includes the standard live center, the standard dead center, one more dead center a half center and a female center. The female center is very handy for supporting long pointy jobs.
Above them all we see the wooden stand I made to keep them all handy, much nicer I think.
A well function accessory ready for use.
